I will always recommend this 5-in-1 Bassinet/Pack 'n Play/Changer! For the price, quality and convenience, it's a win all around. It follows the AAP Safe Sleep Guidelines and makes the first 6 months-1 year of parenting easier when it comes to sleep!
-It includes an elevated infant bassinet for the newborn stage, which can also be utilized as a portable bassinet with a UV 50 sunshade for outside use.
-A diaper changing table with built-in side storage.
-Once your little one outgrows the newborn elevated bassinet, the pack 'n play mat can be elevated to create a full-size infant bassinet.
-Removing the elevated portion turns the sleeping space into a lowered toddler playard/sleep space.
-Even better, all the parts are able to be folded up and fit into the included travel bags to make safe sleep on the go even easier!
*Be sure to follow all safe sleep guidelines and conditions for transitioning your little one's sleep space.
We've used this baby monitor from the time our first was born over 4 years ago, and have never once experienced issues with it! No wifi needed, easy to connect, ability to connect more than one camera, great sound and video quality, portable and easy to travel with, and priced lower than the name brands (and with higher ratings than most!)
When my kids were babies, I did a lottt of research on sleep. I read as many studies, mommy blogs, talked to friends, watched trainings, reels, videos, you name it. One of the things that I was seeing across the board, was that a dark room, like dark enough that you can just barely see your hand stretched out in front of you, was a key to good sleep for babies. I had blinds and standard blackout curtains on a rod, but that didn't keep light from seeping out the sides. Once we invested in these portable blackout curtains that attached flush to the window, it was a gamechanger for both naps and bedtime. I learned this was because darkness triggers melatonin as well as helps babies learn to distinguish between day and night, supporting a more consistent circadian rhythm.
Even better, since these are portable, you can take them with you when traveling to help your little one get good sleep even away from home!
Having tried several different types of swaddles, these HALO Newborn Swaddles were a favorite! The material is great quality, they hold up very well through countless wash and dry cycles, and the velcro allows you to control swaddle tightness. Be sure to choose the size based off of your baby's height and weight and follow safe sleep guidelines for stopping swaddling (when your baby starts showing signs of rolling- typically between 2-4 months).
Read below for a cited excerpt from Taking Cara Babies, Certified Pediatric Sleep Consultant, Cara Dumaplin on benefits of swaddling and if you absolutely have to.
"You do not have to swaddle a newborn. However, the American Academy of Pediatrics(1) says "When done correctly, swaddling can be an effective technique to help calm infants and promote sleep."
Here are some of the other benefits of swaddling a newborn:
Swaddling gives your newborn a feeling of comfort and security similar to the snugness inside the womb.
Swaddling also helps calm the Moro reflex, or “startle reflex,” allowing for more restful sleep.
Swaddling calms babies, soothes pain, and actually supports their development (as found in this study from the American Academy of Pediatrics(2)).
However, if swaddling doesn’t serve you or your baby well for whatever reason, I would never encourage you to swaddle outside of your comfort."

There are plenty of transitional sleep sacks out there- and some babies respond better to some over others. The point of a transition sleep sack is exactly how it sounds, it helps your baby transition from having their arms swaddled, to having their arms fully free in a normal sleepsack.
Following safe sleep, your baby should not use a blanket in their crib, so a sleep sack, or "wearable blanket" provides that comfort and warmth without the risk of suffocation. As with all swaddles and sleep sacks, be sure to get the correct size based off of your baby's height and weight. Sleep sacks often offer larger sizes for toddlers, as well!
